No one hurt when crane falls over in front of Reno bookstore
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A crane being used to take down a cell phone tower toppled Monday morning, taking the tower with it. According to Geoff McFarland with Grassroots Books on Grove Street in Reno, the crane truck flipped about 9AM August 15, 2016 in the store's parking lot during the process. The cell tower fell onto the west side of the parking lot. Nobody was hurt and the store opened as usual. A backup crane was sent to pick everything up.

Crane topples, kills operator
A construction crane toppled and killed its operator in a heavy equipment yard in Crestmore, say San Bernardino County Fire Department officials. The victim died at the scene of the 3:50 p.m. accident Monday, May 11, along the 11400 block of South Cactus Avenue in Crestmore, an unincorporated area east of Bloomington. “The crane was destined to go to a job tomorrow,” said Capt. Kyle Hauducoeur. “They were checking it and stowing the crane on a mobile platform today. “They experienced a problem (and) the operator attempted to warn everybody.

UPDATE: Nevada man killed in construction crane accident “The crane actually fell on him. He was pinned inside the operator’s cab.” The 75-ton machine landed on its side. As evening neared, the crews of a fire engine, a ladder truck and a heavy rescue unit were making arrangements to raise the crane so that the victim’s body could be removed. The man’s name was not released. Firefighters estimated that he was about 70 years old.
